Feelings
Noun
- An emotional state or reaction.
- The emotional side of someone's character; emotional responses or tendencies to respond
After my last post, I told someone that is really important in my life, that I more than likely am not going to have the Gastric Bypass surgery. Their response wasn't what I thought it would be. It left me feeling as though they didn't/don't believe I can do this on my own. We talked more about, tears were shed, thought I would feel better after we talked about it more, but here I am about four days later, and I still don't feel good about it.
No harm was meant, it's just the way it made me feel was more than I could handle. It didn't make me feel great about my journey to come.
And I know they are going to read this and will want to talk about it more, but I don't want to. This is how I handle things.
Needless to say, that was just more motivation to show them wrong.
This all I have today, running low on time at this computer. My home computer broke.
Jess. Surgery or no surgery, the lifestyle change will involve moderation in nutritional choices, and more pronounced daily physical activity. Neither is an out, because it's a step in the direction you want to go. The follow through after the initial decision is the most important price. I want you around as long as possible, I want my future imaginary children to tell me awesome stories of their adventures with Aunt Jess, and I'm not sure when/if I'll have them, but in my mind, when I think about it, you're a part of their lives. Statistically speaking, you're likely to live longer the better care you take of yourself. So, if you become comfortable, healthy and happy in your own skin by way of surgery, diet and exercise, I will be happy for you, proud of you, grateful, and impressed by your strength of will power and stick-to-it-ivness. If you become comfortable, healthy and happy in your own skin by way of diet and exercise alone, I will be happy for you, proud of you, grateful, and impressed by your strength of will power and stick-to-it-ivness. See the difference? Exactly. I cannot forsee anyone saying "See Jess? She looks great, but I hear she cheated with surgery." if they did, they'd hear a backlash of "someone's jelly" responses. Also even if your changes come about from diet and exercise alone, Haters gonna hate. Just be nice to my cousin, whatever you do, and remember, it's for you.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you need anything; motivation, to talk, a buddy, a long walk on the waterfront, a chance to vent, I'm here, just let me know. Separately, you can do whatever you want, however you choose to. The idea that you can't do it without surgery is absurd. The idea that surgery would be a HUGE motivator, and that motivation will be necessary every step of the way is not absurd. Again... It's all about the choices you make leading up to, during, and most importantly after your initial decision.
