Time to get my body ready for a life change.
To have the surgery, like I said in the last posting, I have to loose weight before the surgery. Dr. S wants at least 10% of my current body weight down. Which I don't think I will have any trouble doing, since I have until August which is my last check-in appointment, required by insurance.
So the plan he has set for me is, two weeks I am to be on a whole food high protein food. Smaller portions but at least six mini meals a day. Then the killer part that has me the most worried is, after the first two weeks I am go do a two week sugar free clear liquid diet.
Day one of the high protein started yesterday May 12, 2013. I had to force myself to eat. Breakfast was three turkey sausage links, and two eggs. With breakfast I took my vitamin D, fish oil, calcium, and kids chewable multi vitamin. Then about four hours later, I still wasn't hungry but knew I had to have something, I made myself a protein shake. It's once scoop of protein to 4oz's of water is what he is having me do. Oh! And I almost forgot, I did have a hard boiled egg for a snack since I was starting to feel hungry while dinner was cooking.
This is what my breakfast looked this morning. I had three susuage links though, just had to eat two right away so food would be in my stomach when it come time for those horse pills.
I started then to pre dish out lunches/dinners, and lost track of time, and when I looked at the clock next it was almost 8:00PM. So I missed lunch, but I wasn't too hungry, so I think that is why I didn't even think about it. My mom made us dinner, she made a chicken stir fry type meal, with chicken breast with broccoli and cauliflower.
So I have day one down of high protein! WOOO!!
I start the clear liquid diet on May 26th. This is the one I am most worried about. What I get to eat for two weeks is, sugar free jello, broth, and all the clear liquids I want plus I can have a protein shake at least six times a day. Now the clear liquids can be anything you can see through. So crystal light here I come!
To help me see the present and future, I made a calendar for the next three months, and have it posted on the fridge. I needed to see the weeks of high protein and then the weeks of clear liquid. I think this is going to help me a lot to see an ending point. The pink numbers are high protein days, and blue is clear liquid. You can't see it too well, but this is what I have.
Met with Dr. S today, and I am down 4lbs since thrusday. I really don't know how, since I just started his plan yesterday, but before yesterday I had been watching what I was eating. However I will be doing my own weekly weigh-ins at home, my scale is a bitt off compared to the doctors.
